Mired in Misnomer and Misconception: The Reality of Wealth in America

Abstract

All aspects of wealth, including its origin, maintenance, and relevance to broader societal phenomena are explored. Pervasive misconceptions regarding wealth are systematically debunked and proven counterproductive to the goal of wealth creation. The purpose of this thesis is to convince the reader that wealth is still attainable in America with the requisite set of beliefs and exhibited behaviors. In a day and age where many believe the American Dream a relic of the past due to increasing socioeconomic disparity, it is important to reinforce its achievability so that hope and enterprising spirit once again reign strong in America.
